Blissful Body Yoga

Teal Marie Chimblo Fyrberg was introduced to meditation and yoga when she was 5 years old, sparking a lifelong passion. In addition to yoga, she has studied many forms of energy healing, herbal medicine and nutrition.

Growing up Teal taught yoga to her friends, her pets...anyone that would listen and breathe with her! After high school, she went on to study Fine Art in New York City and France and often taught evening sadhanas to friends in fields and parks.

After art school and a bachelor of visual arts and education degree, she landed in Houston, Texas (yes, she finds it hard to believe, too) and began a 14-year career first as a graphic artist and art director in advertising, fashion, oil and gas and publishing, and then as an art teacher in public schools. She taught yoga whenever she could, including in gyms and yoga studios from 1998 on, but over the years there was less and less time for that and for so many other things that served her Soul Purpose.

Many years went by. Several major health problems arose. Her mind and soul were suffering, and her body was crying out. Eventually, she knew her Soul Purpose could no longer be denied.

Sometimes your only available transportation
is a leap of faith.

She quit her job. Got rid of her stuff. Got ready to sell her house. She went up to Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health and spent 30 days in the heavenly Berkshires completing Kripalu's 200-hour program.

She was back on her Soul Path and it felt great! There were a lot of challenges. She taught 16 yoga classes a week (which is too many, by the way), scrubbed toilets, sold necklaces, rejuvenated her freelance design company. Whatever it took to make ends meet.

She decided she would go back overseas. She had grown up in Europe and the Middle East and wanderlust laid deep and unsatisfied in her bones. She knew that travel was another piece of the puzzle. She made plans to study Yoga in India, and travel to Nepal, maybe Tibet. The wonderful partnership and family she yearned for hadn't happened and she had finally given up finding it. She surrendered to that, too. She let go.

Can you guess what happened next?

She met
The One. Her Soul Mate...the real deal. He was a kind and gentle giant, and he loved her, really and truly, for who she was. He was different from any man she had ever chosen. Things were different. She was changing. Making new choices that fed, not starved, her Soul.

In 2008, she and Mike got out of Dodge...or Houston, as it were. They moved to North Carolina, got married, and soon Teal opened Blissful Body Yoga in Gastonia, North Carolina. In the spring of 2013, she realized a long-time dream by moving to Asheville, North Carolina. Now, in the autumn of 2013 she is bringing forward new offerings including
Blissful Life Coaching programs, which can be enjoyed in Asheville or remotely through online programs. She is enriching her offerings by deepening her study of energy healing techniques and studying Herbalism at the Appalachian School of Holistic Herbalism.

Teal wants you to know that Yoga can transform your life in every area, and she wants to help any way she can.

So,
drop her a line and get ready to enjoy the journey your Soul is waiting for you to take...

When she's not teaching yoga, Teal is usually hiking in the forest with her awesome husband, Mike and wonder dog,
Bhakti. Or growing medicinal herbs, writing stories, and drawing pictures at her farm, River Song Mountain Sanctuary.
